Bill MacGregor Sworn in as State Representative in 10th Suffolk District
BOSTON– On June 7th, Bill MacGregor of West Roxbury was officially sworn in to office by Governor Maura Healey as State Representative for the 10th Suffolk District (West Roxbury, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, Brookline, Chestnut Hill).
In attendance were Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, House Speaker Ron Mariano, House Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means Aaron Michlewitz, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, State Senator Mike Rush, and other members of the Boston Delegation and the Legislature. MacGregor was also joined by his family, friends, and supporters.
MacGregor worked for former City Councilor Matt O’Malley for over a decade, first as his constituent services liaison, then Director of Constituent Services, and later his Chief of Staff. O’Malley, who was also in attendance at the swearing in ceremony, served as Boston City Councilor to District 6, which contains many of the same neighborhoods that fall in MacGregor’s district.
“Today, in the historic halls of our Massachusetts State House, I stood in front of Governor Healey, Lieutenant Governor Driscoll, Speaker Mariano, Chairman Michlewitz, Mayor Wu, my family, constituents, friends, and colleagues (both past and future) and I took an oath,” said MacGregor. “It is an oath that I will never take lightly and it is a memory that will stay with me forever. Today, I was officially sworn in as the State Representative of the 10th Suffolk District. I am filled with both awe and enormous gratitude. Thank you to every single person who supported me along the way. I will work tirelessly to make you proud and to represent this district that I love as well as it deserves.”
