Meet Bill

Bill MacGregor grew up in West Roxbury — the same community where he and his wife, Lisa, are raising their two young children today. Bill attended schools in Brookline and West Roxbury. Bill’s mother was a medical assistant and Bill’s father served in the Vietnam War. Following the war, Bill’s father was a laborer and driver for the Highway and Sanitation division at the Department of Public Works for the Town of Brookline.

Bill’s grandfather was a Brookline Fire Fighter and heroically died in the line of duty in a building fire on January 26, 1966. Bill's brother is a Brookline Fire Lieutenant and a member of Brookline Firefighters Association Local 950. His late Uncle Thomas “Harry” was a Brookline Police Officer.

Bill spent a decade in the private sector before going to City Hall and serving as Chief of Staff to City Councilor Matt O’Malley, working closely with residents, community-based organizations, and local charities to solve problems and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

Bill has played an integral role in most major community issues impacting the Parkway in the past ten years, from helping to Save the Irish Social Club to providing funding for Millennium Park.
